Hardy "Lyonnesse" Victorian Postcard

Postcard: "Lyonnesse" (Thomas Hardy), vintage art and historical poetry with a modern twist. A ruined castle sits against a magical sunset in this lovely Victorian illustration c. 1840-1860 by an anonymous artist. The original black-and-white engraving is in the public domain, and I've remixed it with a modern twist by digitally hand-colouring it. To complement the enchanting imagery, I've incorporated the beautiful 1870 poem When I Set Out for Lyonnesse by Thomas Hardy: "When I set out for Lyonnesse, / A hundred miles away, / The rime was on the spray, / And starlight lit my lonesomeness / When I set out for Lyonnesse / A hundred miles away. / What would bechance at Lyonnesse / While I should sojourn there / No prophet durst declare, / Nor did the wisest wizard guess / What would bechance at Lyonnesse / While I should sojourn there. / When I came back from Lyonnesse / With magic in my eyes, / All marked with mute surmise / My radiance rare and fathomless, / When I came back from Lyonnesse / With magic in my eyes."
