Happy Days at the Beach (by E.H. Potthast) Tile
This design features a painting by the American Impressionist painter Edward Henry Potthast (1857–1927). It shows large crowds children having fun on a warm summer's day at the beach. Some of the children are walking in shallow water, while others are swimming further out to sea. In the foreground, some young girls appear to be making a sand castle; there is a red bucket filled with sand on the beach beside them. It is a beautiful image of childhood in recent history. The original artwork was painted by E.H. Potthast in 1920.
