This is an ancient traditional shamanic design was carefully copied and recorded in a late 1800s U.S. government "ethnology" study of the Northwest Coast indigenous tribes. The Thunderbird symbolizes power, protection and strength. The Thunderbird is also believed to be one of the the most powerful of all aboriginal spirits with the ability to remove its mask and feathers enabling it to change into human form.
