Hacienda - Puzzle

When Cabeza de Vaca, a lost Spanish explorer, emerged from the wilderness in 1536 after eight years of wandering through parts of the vast country that was to become the American West, he reported, "It is, no doubt, the best land in all these Indias. Indeed, the land needs no circumstance to make it blessed." Later generations of Westerners could consider it twice-blessed – by the fruits of the Spanish culture and labour as well as by natural endowment. Vast Western landholdings were based on old Spanish land grants. Spanish architecture – particularly, the low, rambling thick-walled style of gracious country haciendas – dominated the Southwest, blending gracefully with the austere landscape. Folk art original.
