Gustave Caillebotte - Angling Tile

Gustave Caillebotte - Angling Tile

Angling (Pêche à la ligne), painted by Gustave Caillebotte in 1878, depicts a seated fisherman casting into the Yerres while a girl stands beside him under dense riverside trees. This Impressionist oil on canvas turns a quiet leisure scene into a study of reflections, light and modern suburban life at the Caillebotte family estate in Yerres.
