We can't be the greatest country in the world when our kids can't go to school without learning how to hide from a gunman. When I was young and would go shopping with my grandmother, she would always point out where the nearest bathroom was in case one of the kids needed to go. Now we point out where all the exits are. This is an unhealthy and insane way to live. We may no longer see the personal violence industry publicly spending loads of money and public cozying up to our elected officials, but we're also not seeing any kind of meaningful anti-gun legislation.
