Gullfoss Iceland Postcard

Gullfoss, or the 'Golden Falls,' is one of Iceland's most iconic waterfalls, located in the canyon of the Hvítá river. The water cascades down two tiers in a powerful display of nature's force before plunging into a deep, rugged crevice that creates a constant mist and frequent rainbows. Part of the famous Golden Circle route, the falls are a testament to the raw beauty of the Icelandic highlands. In winter, the edges of the falls freeze into shimmering blue ice, while in summer, the golden-hued silt in the water gives the falls their name as they glint in the sunlight.
