Grumpy Marmot Postcard

this fuzzy lil' critter was hanging out along the roadside by the large park at Capitol Reef Nat'l Park & I think I finally found out what he is - I think it's this strange animal called a 'Marmot'?; he & his queer lil' companions were eating berries from the ground approx halfway between the park & the Gifford farm area.... He wasn't real pleased to be having his photo taken, but he is quite interesting so I snapped away & annoyed him to no end - He's about the size of a large beaver [or a super steroid taking squirrel!!] LOL [trust me - this was on ZOOM lens!!] & he has a very thick, bushy, long, & almost orange coloured tail.... for all intents & purposes he appears to be a squirrel, but literally, he is bigger than my fat ol' dog, Princess!
