The Merkabah (also spelled Merkaba) or Star of David, evident in the Metatron's cube, is composed of the upward and downward facing triangles, referenced in the Da Vinci Code, as symbolic of the male and female aspects of reality. These overlapping triangles compose a regular hexagon as well as the flattened exterior edges of a cube, thus the name Metatron's cube.
