Green cat snake sticker

Green cat snake or Boiga cyanea is a Colubrid snake species found in South Asia, China and South-east Asia. The green cat snake is a nocturnal species. By day it lies coiled up amongst tree branches, but by night it actively hunts for prey. Boiga cyanea usually lives in forests where it feeds on lizards, other snakes, small rodents, frogs. The Boiga species is a rearfanged snake, and the fangs are small and it is not easy for the snake to get a good grip to chew in the venom. That said, at least one instance of significant envenomation has been recorded. Don’t attempt to hand-hold a snake that is biting. The snake can, however, be counted as harmless for humans as they are not very aggressive. But there is a very real danger of misidentification of a small Boiga cyanea with one of the venomous green vipers.
