This wave is often referred to as a tsunami, but the great wave could also be an okinami, or a large wave in the open ocean. Also called Under a Wave off Kanagawa or just "The Wave", this is a famous woodblock print by Japanese artist Hokusai. The print was originally published between 1830 and 1833.
