In the original photograph by ZoeSPEAK in this Print, the Great Blue Heron, standing along the bank of a canal, seems to be noticing something farther up the waterway, a possible threat to his territory. He puffs up the bluish grey feathers on his back to make himself look bigger. With his long, thin legs spread and his head and beak turned to the side, the bird almost looks like someone on a subway platform, waiting for a train. Dark, rippled reflections on the water form the background of the scene. There is a wide white border around the photograph, with title and photographer's credit in small text under the photo.
