What is Gratitude? Gratitude is feeling genuinely thankful for the things that happen in your life. This means taking the time to express appreciation, love, and joy. To genuinely feel great about your successes, your intentions, anything new you may have learned, and overall your life. You can also express gratitude for things that positively impact the greater good. There are unlimited things you can focus on in this area. Whatever touches your heart, you can feel the absolute appreciation for. When you really think about it, Gratitude is an affirmation of goodness. You are grateful for the positive aspects both within yourself and with others. This emotion embodies Compassion, Kindness, and Generosity, and this starts with you first. You need to FEEL these loving emotions from deep within. You need to FEEL the thankfulness and appreciation. And, when you express gratitude like this, it can actually lead to an evolution of self. This is because you are changing and shaping your thoughts. What are the benefits of Gratitude We have already started to discuss the benefits of Gratitude a little bit in the previous section, but let’s discuss this in a little more detail. When practicing gratitude, you will receive more of what you are affirming or feeling grateful for. You are putting into motion the law that states – “Like Attracts Like”. You are thinking and feeling about what you are grateful for within yourself, and as a result, seeing more of this in your outer or physical reality. Gratitude will help you to elevate your mood, as you will exclusively be focusing on positive thoughts that make you feel good. This will lead to having a more positive attitude. Gratitude also improves your self-esteem. As you focus on all the good about yourself and your life, you will naturally raise your self-esteem and feel better about yourself.
