The Gordon Dress Original Tartan is the oldest of the Dress Gordons and this sett is based on the usual Gordon or the 92 regimental pattern. The tartan pattern consists of horizonal and vertical bands of differing colors originally woven in wool but can now be made from many more materials and also printed directly onto materials. Tartan is particularly associated with Scotland; Scottish kilts almost always have tartan patterns.
