Goldener Gässchen Czech Republic Postcard
Golden Lane, or Zlatá ulička, is a tiny street located within the Prague Castle complex. Originally built in the 16th century to house castle guards, it later became home to goldsmiths and even the famous writer Franz Kafka. The street is lined with miniature, brightly painted houses that look like they belong in a fairytale.
Each house is a burst of colour against the stone walls of the castle. The small scale of the alley creates an intimate, whimsical environment that captures the magical, alchemical history of Prague.
