Golden Spiral Poster

This piece began as a kind of meditation on the creative process. Shapes were gathered in Adobe Illustrator and tweaked, mirrored, layered, and rotated until the final form "made sense". The resulting graphic was then imported into Photoshop for more "meditation". I honestly could not describe the exact process... it was utterly absorbing with no real conscious awareness of the process or its stages. I remember being disappointed in the emerging forms and preparing myself to delete the whole project. A few seconds later, a spark of beauty manifested - almost as though the piece wanted to be born and was struggling to break through the layers of contrivance I had heaped upon it. The final glyphic is one of my favourite pieces and a personal tribute to the creative "engine" that burns within each of us.
