Funny drinking products feature the word Glogg in a red tile pattern on white. Glögg is a hot spiced mulled wine served in Sweden and other Scandinavian countries. As documented by Stockholm's Wine and Spirits Museum, Swedish King Gustav I Vasa like a drink made from German wine, sugar, honey, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and cloves. It was later named "glödgad vin" in 1609, which meant "glowing-hot wine." This alcoholic beverage's popularity spread throughout the nations in Europe, and in the late 19th Century it became a Christmas holiday tradition. I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
