Cyurs Skinner must have thought there was a need for men's grooming in his mainstreet Saloon. During the 1860's, Skinner's Saloon was the place to drink, gamble, dance, and listen to music. In fact, it was a favourite hangout of the outlaws known as The Road Agents, who are reputed to have murdered over 100 men on the roads around Bannck after relieving them of their gold and money. Vigilantes tracked down and hung most of the outlaws, including Sheriff Plummer their leader, and Cyrus Skinner himself for the belief that he relayed information to the bandits about who was leaving town and how much gold they had. Bannack has been deserted for decades. However, Montana State turned it into a park and it is now one of the finest preserved gold-boom ghost towns in the American west.
