Theodore Ditterline masterfully drew this map shortly after the battle in 1863. It is regarded as the most accurate and earliest map of the event. It's all here, even Custer's Command. Over 50,000 killed in three days of bloody all-out war. The news of the Union victory electrified the north. This battle was the turning point in the Civil War. The map condenses the battle into a three-day overview. It captures the enormous scale of the encounter and all the tactical positions of the Union and Confederate troops. Creases, folds, and blemishes have been removed and colour has been restored. A conservative restoration that adheres to the intention of Mr. Ditterline's masterful work.
