Germany is a state in Central Europe. Since 1990, it has been composed of 16 countries and is written as a constitutional state governed by the rule of liberty, democracy and social law. It is located in the temperate climate zone and has 16 national parks and 100 natural parks. The most populous city in Germany is Berlin, with more than one million inhabitants in the city of Hamburg, Munich and Cologne. The largest metropolitan area is the Ruhr area, Frankfurt am Main is a German financial center of international importance.
