James H Wheldon Whaling Ships Diana & Anne in Artic
The Diana was a 350 tonne German built steam/sail whaler. In 1868 she was wrecked off the Lincolnshire coast signalling the end of Hull's whaling trade. The Anne is a pleasure craft registered in Germany has a mainmast that is 48 m tall and 25 sails. The Anne was used as a training ship for young sailors in the German merchant marine
