End of Day is a work of George Inness who used the oil on canvas technique and completed this masterpiece in 1855. It is one of the greatest George Inness Tonalism pastorale masterpiece.His work was influenced, in turn, by that of the old masters, the Hudson River school, the Barbizon school, and, finally, by the theology of Emanuel Swedenborg, whose spiritualism found vivid expression in the work of Inness' maturity.
