Geode Coffee Mug

Geodes are formed in any rock cavity and contain mainly clear or amethyst quartz crystals, but they are usually found in basaltic lava or limestone, prevalent in the American Midwest. They are normally round or oval structures with a hollow in the centre, sometimes containing other crystals. Once cut in half and polished, geodes reveal a variety of deep and startling colours, from the mineral deposits that filled the voids in the rock over millennia. Geodes can range in colour from browns to purples to blues and greens.
