Gediminas Tower Lithuania Postcard
Gediminas Tower is the remaining part of the Upper Castle in Vilnius, Lithuania. It stands atop Gediminas Hill and is a symbol of the city and Lithuania itself. The first wooden fortifications were built by Gediminas, Grand Duke of Lithuania, and the first brick castle was completed in 1409. The tower has been rebuilt several times, including after being damaged in World War II, and now houses a museum. Visitors can climb to the top for panoramic views of Vilnius Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
