As well as cartooning and photography, shark conservation is very important to me and has been for many years. As soon as we dispel the myths that sharks are 'out to get us' the better. They're in real danger of extinction. They're an essential part of the ocean ecosystem and it's time we cut them some slack. 73 million sharks are killed each year just to satiate the shark fin soup industry alone. With other factors such as big game fishing, pollution, by-catch, curio hunting, this figure could be closer to 100 million.
