French Mailbox Postcard
This bright yellow French Mailbox was manufactured from 1962 to 1985. The mailboxes for the French Post were painted in daffodil yellow with the Post Office’s symbol of a blue bird/arrow in blue and with blue trim. The blue bird is missing on this mailbox. They are cast aluminum. At the bottom is the sentence: "Ne jetez dans cette boîte ni journaux ni imprimés." I couldn't find a good translation, but I think it means don't put newspapers or printed material in the box. It's for mail only. This vintage mailbox was part of an exhibit at a museum.
