The photograph on this shirt is a picture of the notorious Qalandiya Checkpoint in the West Bank of Palestine. It is the main checkpoint that separates the West Bank from Jerusalem. It is used by the Israeli military to control Palestinian access to East Jerusalem, dividing communities and even families. Israel requires Palestinians to have a permit to pass through the checkpoint into Israel for work, medical care or any other reason. When I was here recently, Israeli soldiers shot tear-gas canisters at children who threw stones. Free Palestine. End the occupation.
