Involuntary commitment and forced medication are two practices which can lead to violations of human rights. What happens when people say no to being forced to take strong side effect laden medications or being forced to confinement in a psyche ward? Well they are hunted down like animals and forced into a strait jacket and injected with drugs against their will. Treatment of people with severe emotional stress often becomes a tyrannical process which lacks humanity a civilized race should have and only serves to further exacerbate the weakened mental state people are in. Furthermore they often gain a stigma associated with their diagnosis which they carry with them the rest of their life. Even the more palatable concept of temporary medication to aid emotional crisis is all too often replaced by a belief that people are unfixable with therapy and should be forced to take medication the rest of their life. Ironic that the people who benefit monetarily from your continued reliance on psychiatric medication are the same people who decide if you are to be forced to stay on it.
