Fountain at La Quinta Postcard

In 1926, La Quinta was a small California resort hidden away from the regular path of Palm Springs tourists, and the celebrities who frequented La Quinta liked it that way. The original small town named La Quinta earned its named from the Spanish missionaries; it was the 5th stop (la quinta) on their trail of settlements. In the area of today's Los Angeles International Airport was the 2nd stop (el segundo- the modern city with that very name. ) A fountain in the newer plaza area of famous La Quinta Resort in La Quinta, California. The area was named La Quinta by Spanish missionaries for whom this area was the 5h (la quinta) stop on their route. One of the other stops - the 2nd (el segundo) is today's city of El Segundo next to LAX (Los Angeles) Airport.
