Fort Antoine Monaco Postcard

Fort Antoine is an early 18th-century fortress situated on the northeastern tip of the Rock of Monaco, Monaco-Ville. Built by Prince Antoine I as a military stronghold to protect the principality from naval attacks, it has since been repurposed into an enchanting open-air theatre. The fort features stone tiers for audience seating, ancient cannons, and a distinctive watchtower, all integrated into its bastions, providing a unique historical backdrop for performances. Perched high above the Mediterranean Sea, Fort Antoine offers some of the most spectacular, panoramic views in Monaco. Visitors can look across the yachts and harbour of Port Hercule to the glamourous Monte Carlo district on the opposite side, and down the dramatic coastline of the French Riviera.
