Florida State Flag Tie

This design features the flag of the US state of Florida, which is located in the southeastern region of the United States. It is one of the most populous states in the US, and one of the richest. Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León named the region "la Florida", which means "the Land of Flowers", upon landing there in 1513. The flag consists of a red saltire on a white background, with the state seal superimposed in the middle; it was first adopted as the state flag of Florida in 1868. Florida is often known as the "Sunshine State". The capital city of Florida is Tallahassee, while the most populous city in the state is Jacksonville. Other major cities in Florida include Miami, Tampa, Orlando, St. Petersburg, Hialeah, Port St. Lucie, Cape Coral, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, Gainesville, Coral Springs, Clearwater, Palm Bay, Miami Gardens, Pompano Beach and West Palm Beach.
