The national flower of Mexico was once cultivated as food by the Aztecs- they ate the tubers not the blossoms themselves. Dahlia's come in so many sizes and hues- they are summer bloomers that hang on until early fall. The Dahlia in this photo is covered in a tiny dew drops. It was a sight to behold. ***This photo is from my "Saw this on my walk..." Series. All photos are shot in the Highland Park neighbourhood of West Seattle.
