The Flatiron Mural, painted by Canadian artist, Derek Michael Besant, is located on the back wall of the Gooderham Building in Toronto's Financial District. The painting was painted on a board and attached to the flat end of the wedge-shaped building. The mural consists of over 50 panels attached to a steel frame mounted on the wall and gives off the effect that the painting is fluttering in the wind being held up by screws.The central row of windows are real.
