Flag of Berlin (German City)

This design features the city flag of Berlin, which is the capital of Germany. It is also the country's largest city in terms of both area and population, and it is the most populous city within the European Union (EU). Berlin is one of Germany's 16 constituent states; it is surrounded by the state of Brandenburg, and contiguous with Potsdam, Brandenburg's capital. Berlin is the second most populous urban area in Germany after the Ruhr valley. An inhabitant of Berlin is known as a Berliner. Berlin is a world city of culture, politics, media and science. The flag of Berlin has three stripes of red-white-red, and it is emblazoned with an image of a black bear, a traditional symbol of Berlin.
