First flight of the 1903 Wright Flyer Postcard

The famous first flight photo of the 1903 Wright Flyer at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur (right), are widely credited with engineering the Wright Flyer, the first aircraft capable of sustained powered flight. Orville Wright was at the controls of the machine, lying prone on the lower wing with his hips in the cradle which operated the wing-warping mechanism.
