In every line of hard work where one might bump their head, hats are used. Over time people recognize the hat and know what you do just by looking. For those that don't, Fire is often written somewhere on it if if it's for a firefighter - to un-confuse, confused people. This is a modern hat, it has a flashlight. The flash light is used for dramatic effect when telling spooky stories after the fire is put out.
