Fingal's Cave Poster

Fingal's Cave Poster

Fingal's Cave on the island of Staffa, Scotland. Fingal's Cave, a natural wonder located on the uninhabited island of Staffa in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, has a geological and mythological history that captures the imagination. The cave is known for its distinctive hexagonal basalt columns, formed by volcanic activity over 60 million years ago. The name "Fingal's Cave" is attributed to the 18th-century Scottish poet-historian James Macpherson, who claimed that the cave was the lair of the legendary Celtic warrior and leader Fingal, the central character in his epic poem cycle "Ossian." While Macpherson's works have been controversial and debated for their authenticity, the association with Fingal has added a layer of romantic allure to the cave. In the 19th century, Fingal's Cave gained international fame for its unique acoustics and stunning natural architecture. The cave's entrance is framed by towering basalt columns, creating a cathedral-like atmosphere. The German composer Felix Mendelssohn visited the cave in 1829 and was inspired to compose his famous Hebrides Overture, also known as Fingal's Cave Overture, capturing the majestic and otherworldly ambiance of the place. Today, Fingal's Cave remains a popular destination for tourists and nature enthusiasts, accessible by boat from the nearby Isle of Mull, and continues to inspire awe with its breathtaking beauty and intriguing geological history.

My Bible verse postcard, turned out excellent. I love it and have it already framed. It was so reasonably priced for something done so well. Thank you to Zazzle and the artist! I thought it looked exactly like what I ordered. Perfect.

Poster is printed clearly, good quality . Inclusive of many prints . The shipping was the problem. Box was flimsy and item got bent.. only suggestion would have been to put in a canister or mark fragile. Printing was exactly as shown
