Dreamy Moments series: A dreamy woodland scene picturing a mushroom dappled by sunlight filtering through the canopy. You can almost see the fairies using it as a table at mealtimes! The mushroom's common name is Penny Bun or Porcini and the Latin name is Boletus edulis.
It was taken at Spitchwick, a little-known and quiet valley on the edges of Dartmoor. It's here that the River Dart's natural progress hits a wall of granite and, in turning left, leaves a wide and deep stretch of water that is popular with wetsuit-clad swimmers and canoeists.
