Fanny Mendelssohn, 1842 Postcard
A 19th century German composer and Pianist, born in Hamburg. She composed over 460 pieces of music Her works include a piano trio and several books of solo piano pieces and songs. Fannie helped her brother Felix by constructive criticism. One composer said she played like a man. She died in Berlin of complications from a stroke suffered while rehearsing one of her brother’s cantatas.
