About This Design

Family Problems

Fun and whimsical illustration by Theodor Kittelsen from his series of water colours entitled “Har Dyrene Sjæl?” (Do Animals have Souls?), published in 1893. This illustration is titled “Family Problems“, featuring a family of well-dressed grasshoppers sitting around the dinner table getting what appears to be an unexpected visit by a beetle couple sporting fancy hats.
