Faces Of Goodbye – Selfless Release Lavender

Don't go – Selfless Release is one of multiple 'Faces of Don't go' poems/writings that focuses on those times when one chooses to conceal feelings that might result in detouring departure plans of someone cherished. The series of Faces of Don’t Go products is a subset of the series, Faces Of Goodbye which focuses on the various circumstances when “Goodbye” is necessary. The companion poem, “Sealed For Eternity” speaks to the finality of some Goodbyes. This, “Selfless release” version is not part of any stories I currently have on my writing workbench. It focuses on those times when “Don’t go” may still be within the control of the one left, but playing that card might be more damaging in the long run. Knowing the pain and loss that both leaver and left will experience is the mature selfless act that prevents “Don’t go.” While there are many less painful situations, the bible story of the prodigal son (Luke 11:15-32) is one example.
