F-106 Delta Dart, Interceptor Aircraft

The F-106 Delta Dart is an interceptor aircraft developed by Convair for the U.S. Air Force. Introduced in the 1950s, the F-106 was designed to provide high-speed, high-altitude defence against Soviet bombers. It features a distinctive delta wing design, advanced avionics for its time, and a powerful engine, making it one of the fastest aircraft in its class. The F-106 was equipped with air-to-air missiles and had a notable radar system to detect and engage enemy aircraft. Despite its advanced capabilities, the F-106 was eventually phased out in the 1980s as newer aircraft and missile systems took over the role of air defence.
