The F-101 Voodoo is a supersonic fighter aircraft developed by McDonnell Aircraft for the U.S. Air Force. Introduced in the 1950s, the F-101 was designed primarily as a long-range interceptor and tactical fighter. It featured a sleek, delta wing design and was powered by a single engine, which contributed to its high-speed performance. The F-101 served in various roles, including air defence, reconnaissance (as the RF-101), and escort missions. It was equipped with advanced avionics and weaponry for its time, and although it was eventually replaced by more advanced aircraft, the F-101 played a significant role in Cold War-era air defence and reconnaissance operations.
