Everest 1921 Vintage Preliminary Exploration Map Poster

Everest 1921 Vintage Preliminary Exploration Map Poster

A restored archival print of the 1921 British Preliminary Exploration Map of Mount Everest, the first detailed survey of the world’s highest peak. Combining vintage cartography with hand-illustrated explorers, this fine-art poster celebrates the dawn of Himalayan discovery. Everest 1921 — The Vintage Preliminary Exploration Map This restored artwork commemorates the 1921 British Reconnaissance Expedition, the first to approach and map Mount Everest from Tibet. Led by Charles Howard-Bury, with surveyors Major H. T. Morshead and George Mallory, the team traced the glaciers of the North Face, charted the approaches to the North Col, and produced the first Preliminary Exploration Map published by the Royal Geographical Society. This edition combines the original map engraving with a hand-rendered watercolor and ink vignette of explorers and Sherpa porters — blending the precision of early geography with the human spirit of exploration. Printed on fine archival paper, this piece stands as both scientific history and vintage decor, bridging the 1858 “Survey of Everest” and the modern age of mountaineering. Reproduced from “Map I: Preliminary Map Illustrating the Mount Everest Expedition, 1921” — Royal Geographical Society Archives. Restored and designed by themagicclicks, 2025.

My Bible verse postcard, turned out excellent. I love it and have it already framed. It was so reasonably priced for something done so well. Thank you to Zazzle and the artist! I thought it looked exactly like what I ordered. Perfect.

Poster is printed clearly, good quality . Inclusive of many prints . The shipping was the problem. Box was flimsy and item got bent.. only suggestion would have been to put in a canister or mark fragile. Printing was exactly as shown

I am a fan of Ravens and needed to have a poster of my favourite bird. The image quality is sharp.
