The lovely harbour town of Porthleven lies within an area of outstanding natural beauty, near Helston in Cornwall. Porthleven attracts many summer tourists and large numbers of surfers who come for the waves which often exceed 6 feet due to the prevailing winds which batter the coast. The Ship Inn stands at the mouth of the harbour which is also guarded by two antique canons. This photograph is looking up the coast from Porthleven, early evening in winter.
