Enjoy a ride on the Pt. Defiance-Tahlequah ferry from Tacoma, WA to Vashon Island. This photo shows the small white and green ferryboat approaching Pt. Defiance in early evening over smooth-as-glass light blue water with its lights just visible. The foreground shows the gabled roof of a pier-side restaurant, boasting a seabird weather vane on the highest, middle peak. A live gull flies slowly off to the left of the image, over the water. The evergreen-covered hills of Maury and Vashon Islands share the background with a light pink sky. "Tacoma, WA" is written in white script on the upper right side of the image.
