About This Design

Even Honoré de Balzac Stopped for Coffee Notebook

“Even Balzac Stopped for Coffee.” A warm, atmospheric tribute to the legendary French novelist Honoré de Balzac — famed not only for La Comédie Humaine, but also for his near-mythic devotion to coffee while writing. This vintage-style artwork captures the intensity of a 19th-century literary mind at work: manuscripts, candlelight, porcelain cup, and polished brass coffee pot set against a richly textured study. A refined gift for: • Writers • Literature lovers • Coffee devotees • Francophiles • Students of classic fiction Part of the “Even (Author) Stopped for Coffee” collection — celebrating the human rituals behind great writing. This is an original contemporary illustration inspired by the historical figure of Honoré de Balzac (1799–1850), who is in the public domain. It is not based on any specific existing artwork.

This journal came in within a week of ordering it and I was thrilled! I love roses so I love having this journal. The size is perfect. Small enough to throw in a bag. The printing is clear. The pages are nice and thick. The binding is sturdy. The printing is a little darker than the photo on screen but that is expected with printing. It looks luxurious to me. I love deep red roses.

Speedy delivery, book is hard-covered, beautiful and very-well made! My daughter is using it for her favourite recipes and it will be kept for years. The printing was perfect, done exactly to specifications.
