About This Design

Even George Eliot Stopped for Coffee Notebook

A calm, literary moment reimagined. This hardback notebook features an original oil-painting-style illustration inspired by the idea of George Eliot, depicted here as a fictionalised writer pausing with coffee while studying botany. The scene blends scholarship and stillness: a plain wooden desk, botanical studies, books, and quiet concentration. Designed for writers, readers, academics, and lovers of classic literature with a modern sensibility, this notebook is part of the Even Writers Stopped for Coffee series—celebrating the human moments behind great minds. Ideal for journaling, note-taking, research, or as a thoughtful literary gift. This artwork is an original, fictionalised illustration inspired by a public-domain literary figure. It does not depict or reproduce any historical likeness and is not based on any existing artwork.

This journal came in within a week of ordering it and I was thrilled! I love roses so I love having this journal. The size is perfect. Small enough to throw in a bag. The printing is clear. The pages are nice and thick. The binding is sturdy. The printing is a little darker than the photo on screen but that is expected with printing. It looks luxurious to me. I love deep red roses.

Speedy delivery, book is hard-covered, beautiful and very-well made! My daughter is using it for her favourite recipes and it will be kept for years. The printing was perfect, done exactly to specifications.
