Esther Wheelwright, the product of several generations of devout Puritans, was destined to become the first and only English born Mother Superior at Quebec's Ursuline Convent. During her remarkable life she saw the destruction of her home town and was kidnapped by Abnaki tribesmen. She survived imprisonment and several bouts of Cholera and, in adulthood, lived through the shelling of her convent by both the French and British during the Seige of Quebec. Her response to this lack of consideration? To turn the remains of her home into a military hospital and treat the wounded from each of the assailing armies. I ordered these with interiors of yellow, red, maroon, pink, navy blue, and light blue. Note that the navy blue is VERY dark and looks black in some lighting. The mugs have survived 10 months of use so far! My friends were all very happy with them. Print turned out very clear. Colours were accurate. Thank you!
