The Eagle symbolizes the former free imperial city of Esslingen, Rauten and Hifthorn, which are taken from the old district swamps of Nürtingen, where the diamonds symbolize the reign of Teck (including the town of Kirchheim under Teck) and the Hifthorn the city of Nürtingen.
